Our Work

From one community to the next, Camp-Mary United Inc. vows to restore the pride of Haitian farmers and help them feed their children again. Different projects are currently underway. As new projects opportunities emerge to respond to newer challenges and necessities, CMU will inform the public accordingly via our meetings, website, or social media. Reports on all projects will be provided.

Irrigation Project I

As in almost all rural areas in the country, the local farmers of Camp-Mary and neighboring communities rely completely on rainy seasons to grow their crops. However, having faced some very harsh drought seasons caused by deforestation and environmental degradation, these farmers barely produce any goods to help sustain the life of their families. To help relieve this stress, CMU decides to launch its 1st project: Irrigation. This project will assist these local farmers in gaining access to a reliable source of water, which will improve their agricultural production and their family needs. By multiplying similar irrigation efforts throughout the country, CMU hopes to help farmers save their children from hunger and poverty.

Annual Agriculture, Arts and Craft Fairs

May 1st of every year Camp-Mary United Inc. holds an agricultural fair. This fair celebrates the Haitian Labor and Agricultural Day together with the work and contribution of small farmers. With the support of the farmers and artisans in the locality, CMU successfully organized its first annual agricultural fair on May 1st, 2021. The main objective of the agricultural fair is to provide local farmers a platform to sell their goods to a wider audience and boost the local economy. Furthermore, this seeks to raise awareness about the high capacity for agricultural production and the huge economic impact that can be achieved if greater investments are made in the Haitian farmers and local agricultural infrastructure. With continuous improvement in the magnitude of this fair, CMU hopes to shine a light on small farmers and ensure they are given the tools and support to become the engine that will help rebuild the Haitian economy.
